New York is loud, expensive, chaotic. She’s a city where you run on fumes and mistake that for virtue. Cursing is a must; honking is a sport.
I loved living in Manhattan. The convenience! The adventures! Going to a party in Hell’s Kitchen and ending up in Queens. Starting the evening in FiDi and leaving a Bulgarian bar at 3am.
But I love living just across the Hudson a little more. Close enough to participate. Far enough to breathe.
You can’t admire the skyline from the skyline or watch the evening sun paint on the glass facades of her buildings.
